Drowning in information and starving for wisdom?
Decision-making support
I can support you to navigate decisions in your perinatal journey. This includes helping you understand your options, make sense of research and maternity guidelines, and feel confident choosing the path that is right for you.
Why it matters
The journey to motherhood is physically, mentally and emotionally demanding. Some people have a smooth ride, while others face unexpected challenges. Even when things are straightforward, there will be decisions to make.
Most maternity care is fragmented, with limited continuity and an impersonal, one-size-fits-all approach. People are also exposed to vast amounts of information and conflicting advice, often leaving them uncertain about who or what to trust. With rising rates of intervention and birth trauma, preparing for birth — and feeling supported in your decisions — has never been more important.
My approach
I help cut through the noise by offering a space where you are listened to without judgement. I support you to understand birth research, maternity guidelines, and the realities of clinical practice, so you can take time to weigh up your options and make clear choices.
Alongside sharing evidence-based information, we will use tools that help you tune into your inner knowing, connect with your values, and build confidence in your decision-making.
My approach is informed by:
More than 10 years working in the NHS
Masters-level training in Applied Counselling for Healthcare
Yoga-based practices that cultivate self-connection and clarity
Holding and being held in women's circles
When to reach out
Support around birth options can be helpful at any stage of pregnancy. It can be particularly valuable:
If circumstances change, such as a diagnosis of gestational diabetes
If you are unsure about a specific care pathway or type of birth you've been recommended
Towards the end of pregnancy, if something unexpected arises and time feels limited
Wherever you are in your journey, understanding your options can help you feel more grounded, informed, and empowered.
