How can yoga support pregnancy, birth and postpartum?
Gentle yoga in pregnancy has so many benefits. It reduces back pain; improves sleep quality; increases oxytocin essential for labour, love and lactation; cultivates breath awareness and optimal positioning for baby; promotes postnatal wellness and mental health; and offers a space for community.
Yoga is a huge support on my own motherhood journey and I've been honoured to learn from some wonderful yoga teachers, including Tanya Kaps and Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. They continue to inspire me in my own regular practice and my desire to keep sharing the light of yoga.
